Revenue Generated by Counties (July 2017 – March 2018)

The power to raise revenue both at the national and county government is enshrined in the 2010 Constitution of Kenya.Revenue collection is important when it comes to funding various development projects within the counties. Nairobi, Mombasa, Narok and Nakuru were among the counties that generated the highest amount and Tana River, Lamu and Mandera are among those that had the lowest amount as illustrated below.   This is the percentage of the total revenue collected as from July 2017 to March 2018   The analysis of the local revenue as a proportion of the annual target is illustrated below
